Easter Vocabulary Words and Definitions

Basket
a container made of twigs, rushes, thin strips of wood, or other flexible material woven together.
Bonnet
a hat, usually tying under the chin and often framing the face, formerly much worn by women but now worn mostly by children
Bunny a young rabbit.
Candy
any of a variety of confections made with sugar, syrup, etc., often combined with chocolate, fruit, nuts, etc.
Chick

Chocolate
a preparation of the seeds of cacao, roasted, husked, and ground, often sweetened and flavored, as with vanilla.
Daffodil
usually yellow flowers with a trumpet-shaped central area.
Easter egg
an egg that is dyed and often decorated as part of the Easter celebration. an artificial egg, typically chocolate, given at Easter, esp. to children.
Good Friday
Good Friday, also called Holy Friday, Black Friday, or Great Friday, is a religious holiday observed primarily by adherents to Christianity commemorating the crucifixion of Jesus.
Hot cross bun A hot cross bun, or cross-bun, is a type of sweet spiced bun made with currants or raisins and leavened with yeast. Jellybean
a small, bean-shaped, usually brightly colored candy with a hard sugar coating and a firm gelatinous filling.
Lily
any scaly-bulbed plant of the genus Lilium, having showy, funnel-shaped or bell-shaped flowers.
Palm Sunday

is a Christian moveable feast which always falls on the Sunday before Easter Sunday.
Parade
a large public procession, usually including a marching band and often of a festive nature, held in honor of an anniversary, person, event, etc.
