OH, THE GOOD OLD DAYS!

theenglishteacher on June 11th, 2009

While some of you might think I’ve gone a little mad others will appreciate this compilation of 70’s TV shows and adverts typical in the UK. I happened to be reminiscing with a friend of mine on Skype  and then got carried away with this, it certainly brings back memories, anyone else remember?

  1. WOW!
What a great collection - even Mr Benn! Finger of Fudge (love that jingle)! Bagpuss! Leonard Rossiter and Joan Collins in the Cinzano ad! Yes! C’mon Dave! Smash! ….
Lots of snippets there I thought I’d forgotten but found myself singing along to word-perfectly - it just shows how good our memories WERE!!! Does it also show how much we were glued to the box????? (but it was GOOD TV!) :-)

    Thanks O Great English Teacher!

  2. My name is Anne. I’m 12 years old and live outside Indianapolis, Indiana.(U.S.) I found your blog through edublogs and would like to tell you something. I am in love with Skype. See, I’m in a pilot program. In this program, each student can borrow or buy a laptop. We used a network called Angel and worked from there. Almost our entire class downloaded Skype…for a while it was a problem. But, the amazing part with Skype is that if you have to miss a day of school, or just a period, all you have to do is Skype your teacher and ask them whats going on. (Or you could check Angel for your announcements) Anyway, it was enjoyable to read your blog and I would enjoy if you could visit mine. See, everyone in our class was required to have a blog. http://annep604.edublogs.org/

  3. I grew up during the seventies. Although my memories are different from yours (I grew up in Belgrade), my childhood came back to me while I watched this video. I was inspired to write a blog post of my own: http://lunas994.blogspot.com/2.....html#links
